Lori Baggett Recognized as Stetson Lawyers Alumni Association Outstanding Alumni Representative
Tampa, Fla. – Carlton Fields is pleased to announce that Tampa Office Managing Shareholder Lori Baggett is the recipient of the Stetson Lawyers Alumni Association Outstanding Alumni Representative Award.
The award is presented annually to an alumnus for their dedication and service to the Stetson Lawyers Alumni Association, as well as their encouragement of further fellow alumni involvement in local association activities.
Baggett is serving her second term as a member of the Stetson Lawyers Alumni Association. She recently formed the Baggett Family Scholarship, which supports African American students at Stetson Law who exhibit exemplary academic and personal leadership and have demonstrated financial need.
Outside of her involvement with the Stetson Lawyers Alumni Association, Baggett is also actively involved within the firm and in the community. She co-chairs Carlton Fields’ Women’s Alliance, and is a past fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity. Baggett also served as chair of the American Bar Association’s Forum on Construction Law Labor and Employment Division, and is currently serving a three-year term on the Forum’s Governing Committee. In addition, she is a past chair of The Florida Bar’s Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee, a member of the Tampa Bay Chamber Board of Directors, and a member of the Tampa Bay History Center Board of Trustees.
At Carlton Fields, Baggett represents companies in many aspects of labor and employment law, with a particular expertise in workplace safety and health (OSHA) issues. As one of only a handful of Florida lawyers with OSHA 30 certification, she works with clients dealing with fatal and catastrophic accidents and helps them resolve OSHA citations and whistleblower complaints. She also advises and counsels employers on workplace legal compliance issues, conducts internal compliance investigations, and defends employment-related claims.
Baggett earned her J.D., cum laude, from Stetson University College of Law and her B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of South Alabama.
