Farah Z. Alkayed Joins Carlton Fields in Los Angeles

Alkayed’s hire continues the expansion of the firm’s nationally recognized practice, which includes more than 150 attorneys in 11 offices across the country. Within the last three months, the firm has hired 13 litigators. Corporate counsel also named Carlton Fields a “Litigation Powerhouse” in a number of litigation areas including Complex Commercial Litigation in the recently released 2019 BTI Litigation Outlook.
Alkayed represents businesses and individuals in federal and state courts in commercial litigation, including contract disputes, fraud claims, insurance, construction, and real estate matters. She also has experience in intellectual property and employment law, as well as security and healthcare regulations.
Prior to joining Carlton Fields, Alkayed practiced at the law firm Woolls Peer Dollinger & Scher in Los Angeles. While in law school, she served as a summer associate for Cisco Systems Inc., Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy LLP, and as a law clerk for the Office of the California Attorney General under the Civil Division Chief Assistant.
Alkayed is a member of the California Bar. She received her LL.M. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law and she earned her J.D. from Indiana University Bloomington Maurer School of Law while presiding in leadership positions for the Middle Eastern Law Students Association and the Business Law Society. Alkayed also earned her LL.B. from the University of Jordan, where she ranked second in her class. She is fluent in Arabic.
