Carlton Fields’ D. Barret Broussard Wins Georgia Voice “Best Lawyer” Award in Recognition of His Service to the LGBTQ Community

Atlanta, Ga. – Carlton Fields is pleased to announce that Atlanta attorney D. Barret Broussard is the recipient of the Best Lawyer Award from Georgia Voice, a premier media source for the LGBTQ community in Georgia. Broussard was honored as part of the publication’s reader-voted Best of Atlanta 2019 Awards. He was recognized at a July 18 ceremony.
 
Broussard is active in Atlanta’s LGBTQ legal community. He is the vice president/president-elect of the Stonewall Bar Association, where he also was most recently the co-chair of the Law Student Outreach Committee. In his role as vice president, he assists the president, supervises the activities of the organization’s several committees, and performs other executive committee functions. His term as president will begin in November 2019. Broussard also serves as the Georgia representative to the National LGBT Bar Association. 
 
He is a member of the LEAD Atlanta Class of 2018, where he has engaged with civic and thought leaders throughout the metro Atlanta area. In addition, Broussard is an active member of the LEAD Atlanta Alumni Association. At Carlton Fields, his litigation practice focuses on representing clients in a wide range of business disputes involving illegal business practices, unfair competition, theft of trade secrets, counterfeiting, trademark and copyright infringement, tortious interference, fraud, and breach of contract.
 
Broussard earned his J.D., with honors, from Emory University School of Law, and his B.S. from Brigham Young University.
