From Summer Associate to Big Law Shareholder: Here’s How Yolanda Strader Did It

Carlton Fields Miami Shareholder Yolanda Strader was featured in a Daily Business Review article discussing her career at the firm, from starting as a summer associate to becoming a shareholder.

“At one point, Black women made up less than 1% of partners at large firms, and that statistic can psych you out; it can make you think, ‘What am I doing? Can I actually make it?’ You have to get over that fear,” said Strader. “You have to realize you are worthy, and realize that your work is equivalent to everyone else’s hard work, and that you deserve to become a shareholder.”
