Florida Governor Backs Data Privacy Bill Akin to California Laws

Carlton Fields attorney Joseph W. Swanson was quoted in a Bloomberg Privacy & Data Security Law News article about Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ decision to back a data privacy bill similar to the California Consumer Privacy Act and the California Privacy Rights Act.

The proposed legislation could represent a “significant expansion of liability,” said Swanson, who leads Carlton Fields’ Cybersecurity and Privacy Practice.
