Carlton Fields’ Clark Lackert Featured in Asia IP on IP Laws for Outer Space

Carlton Fields intellectual property Shareholder Clark Lackert was featured in an Asia IP video about why the world needs intellectual property laws for outer space activity.

Even though countries have been exploring the cosmos for a few decades, there still is not an overarching framework for intellectual property and other legal issues in outer space.

Lackert says it is surprising that there isn’t more of a focus on this matter, since consensus around commercial activity in space is critical to the future.

“We are going to have to address this issue of intellectual property in space, and it’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when,” said Lackert.
