Closer Look at SEC ‘Accredited Investor’ Revamp Suggests Little Will Change
Carlton Fields blockchain attorney Andrew (Drew) Hinkes was quoted in a CoinDesk article about a proposed change to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s definition of “accredited investors.” Under a new definition, accredited investors could include people who have academic credentials showing their understanding of investment products. Such a change “could have a massive impact” on cryptocurrency investors, but much remains to be seen, Hinkes said.
“For now, it's promising but not yet actionable,” he told CoinDesk.
