U.S. Treasury Blacklists Bitcoin, Litecoin Addresses of Chinese ‘Drug Kingpins’

Carlton Fields blockchain attorney Andrew (Drew) Hinkes was quoted in a CoinDesk article, “US Treasury Blacklists Bitcoin, Litecoin Addresses of Chinese ‘Drug Kingpins’” regarding the recent sanctioning of three Chinese nationals under the Foreign Narcotics Kingpin Designation Act.

The Office of Foreign Assets Control designated the men as narcotics traffickers, and listed associated email aliases, citizen numbers, passport information, and cryptocurrency addresses, marking only the second time that the agency has sanctioned actors’ digital currency addresses specifically.
