Video: Justin S. Wales on How the First Amendment Protects Bitcoin

Following the publication of his University of Miami Law Review article outlining how the First Amendment might apply to Bitcoin, Carlton Fields attorney Justin S. Wales was interviewed by Bitcoin Magazine about the unique research paper. Wales co-chairs Carlton Fields’ Blockchain and Digital Currency Practice.

“What we argue is not necessarily that all First Amendment rights should be put into Bitcoin to avoid regulations, but that Bitcoin is a more holistic and expressive platform that is not just a tool for financial transactions,” Wales told Bitcoin Magazine about the law review article, which he co-authored with the late Carlton Fields attorney Richard J. Ovelmen.
