Carlton Fields’ Matthew E. Kohen Quoted in Media About High-Profile Cryptocurrency Case

Carlton Fields Blockchain and Digital Currency Practice Co-Chair Matthew E. Kohen was quoted in the Daily Business Review explaining the significance of a recent ruling in a high-profile cryptocurrency case. A Florida judge entered sanctions against entrepreneur Craig Wright, who claimed to be the creator of Bitcoin, for delivering false testimony and misleading the court, according to the article.

Kohen told the DBR that the judge showed sophistication in his understanding of blockchain technology. “This magistrate judge, who I’m sure had no prior interaction with bitcoin prior to this case, picked up on a lot of the same things bitcoin commentators picked up on, which I’m sure is not a coincidence,” Kohen said.
