Carlton Fields Esports Attorney Steven Blickensderfer Appears on NPR’s 1A

Carlton Fields attorney Steven Blickensderfer appeared on National Public Radio’s 1A to discuss in-game purchases known as loot boxes. Blickensderfer discussed proposed legislation seeking to regulate loot boxes and the video game industry’s response to consumer concerns. The program, “Game Mode: Loot Boxes And The Law,” also featured guests Charlie Hall, a senior reporter at Polygon, and Stanley Pierre-Louis, president and CEO of the Entertainment Software Association.
 
Blickensderfer co-hosts the Carlton Fields esports podcast “LAN Party Lawyers” with colleague Nicholas A. Brown. Both lawyers co-chair the firm’s Esports and Electronic Gaming practice. On the podcast, the two lawyers tackle cutting-edge topics at the intersection of video games, law, and business. The Los Angeles Times also recently quoted Blickensderfer in an article about the proliferation of loot boxes and micro-transactions.
